High Grade Universal Century (HGUC)

High Grade Universal Century (HGUC) Gundam ModelsWhat is the HGUC? HGUC is the abbreviation for High Grade Universal Century, Gunpla (Gundam plastic model) of the Mobile Suits from the Universal Century timeline in the Gundam meta series. Most of the HGUC model kits are in 1/144 scale, but exceptions have been made for Mobile Armors. HGUC model kits are known for their ease of construction and generous use of polycaps and tinted plastic for details such as visual sensors, monoeyes and beam saber effect parts.


HGUC series was released in May of 1999, it represented a chance to release versions of many Mobile Suits for the first time in kit form using refined designs and modern injection moulding technology. Starting in 2010 the HGUC line extended to the After War and Future Century timelines with the HGAW and HGFC lines respectively.


Structure is simple, easy to build, cheap price but beautiful, these are features of HGUC model kits. If you focus on the beautiful appearance and do not want to invest too much money, then HGUC be your first choice, of course, provided you must be a prime Universal Century fan.


HGUC and MG these two Gundam series all have their own large consumer base. MG models can be regarded as the structure and shape coexistence, HGUC model kits are slashing away hidden in the back of the armor within the structure, but focus on the beautiful appearance. So the HGUC series, there are no startling mechanical beauty, while the appearance is very beautiful. HGUC series is the most complete Universal Century Gundam series, and the first choice for novice Gunpla modeller.
